The Humber will take centre stage in 2017 for Hull’s reign as the UK’s City of Culture – a title which has brought a new sense of confidence and ambition to the region. This too is acting as a natural catalyst for investment in hotels, conference venues, public realm and leisure facilities, with international brand Hampton by Hilton currently developing a £7million hotel by Humberside Airport.

KLM operate 3 flights a day to and from Humberside International airport to Amsterdam Schiphol airport, with connections to more than 800 destinations worldwide.

The £80million regeneration of Hull’s Fruit Market due to be completed in 2019, will see 109 new homes  built in Hull’s marina next to a hub of independent shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants. The redevelopment will become Hull’s cultural quarter and is a joint venture between local developers Wykeland and Beal Homes. With six large theatres already in operation across the region, and a new £36million live music and conference venue also confirmed, the cultural offering here is thriving. With a fast growing visitor economy, the Humber is seeing great investment into this sector with the area benefiting from having prime commercial development space available, including in the city centre, and on both the North and South banks of the Humber.
